Shelley Skinner

Shelley Skinner is the Managing Director of Portfolios at The Tepper Foundation, where she leads all of the Foundation’s grantmaking. In this role, she drives organization-wide program strategy and oversees all seven giving portfolios. Under her leadership, the Foundation’s annual grantmaking has nearly tripled, now approaching $90 million.

As the first full-time, non-family hire at The Tepper Foundation, Shelley worked closely with CEO Randi Tepper and the board, playing an instrumental role in the Foundation’s transformation from a small operation into a professionalized team of over 15 people. She played a central role in building the infrastructure and systems that have enabled the Foundation’s significant expansion in both scale and impact.

Shelley brings two decades of experience in public policy and the nonprofit sector. Before joining The Tepper Foundation, she served as the Executive Director of the Better Education Institute and its advocacy arm, Better Education for Kids.

She lives in Jersey City, NJ, with her husband and rescue dog Bubbles, and has two grown children.
